Romsey Men’s 2nd XI dropped their first points of the season in a tight contest away against Aldershot and Farnham 3s. With a push back so late that they started under lights, Romsey struggled with the bouncy pitch and high intensity of the home team’s approach.

Romsey were under pressure from the start and a string of short corners were eventually converted to give Aldershot the early lead. The shock of going behind for the first time in the league bolstered Romsey and they started to play much better. The defensive unit became more secure and this base provided a much more effective platform going forward. One of the visitors many circle penetrations led to a short corner. This was spectacularly converted with a drag flick from Fraser.

The game continued in a tight manner for the rest of the game. Long periods of pressure from Romsey saw no reward and Aldershot were always dangerous on the break. Neither team could convert though and the game finished 1-1.
