In a match that will be remembered for the  constant driving rain and  an incredible performance by the Andover goal keeper, Romsey’s unbeaten season continued with a 6 – 0 win as they dominated the  match from start to finish, with exceptional play from all 13 players.

Hal Cross in the Romsey goal sat the majority of the match on his back board watching the attackers and midfield pepper the opposition with numerous shots whilst the Andover keeper made possibly up to 30 saves and so doing stopped his side from what might have been a complete annihilation. If Romsey felt anything, other than cold and wet, it was perhaps disappointment that a double figure score was not achieved.

The drive from captain Tom Croft Baker and Ben Davidson was the focal point of the team and the width provided by Matt Loveday, Matt Rowland  and Robert Williams stretched the Andover defence and ace striker Archie Atwood got his 6th goal of the week from a swept shot to start the rout. Further goals followed from Williams, Croft – Baker (2) and Harry Croft Baker (2) who was moved from his usual wing position to play up front with Attwood.

Rarely did Andover threaten but when they did the defence of Alex Mills, Raul Patel, Jamie Sanderson, Thomas Edwards and Sam Green snuffed any threat out with ease and then led the attacking with swift passing to the forwards.

Romsey remain unbeaten, having scored 14 goals this week alone, and aim to continue that run in a fortnight against Bournemouth.
