Romsey Ladies 4s v Eastleigh 2s – Away Win, 3–0 🌟

Romsey Ladies 4s enjoyed a fantastic morning away fixture, coming away with a well-deserved 3–0 victory over Eastleigh 2s in a game full of smiles, family support, and great team spirit.

The opening goal came from Lucy, who calmly converted from a short corner – although many of the subs unfortunately missed it thanks to a very friendly dog on the sidelines (Eastleigh’s unofficial 12th player!) causing a doggy distraction! 🐶😂

Penny doubled the lead with a lovely goal, before Sarah sealed the win with our third. Penny’s outstanding reverse-stick passes across goal and sheer determination throughout the match earned her a very well-deserved Star Player award ⭐.

It truly was a family affair, with extra special mentions going to Sarah’s dad / Penny’s grandad, who received a Star Support nomination for enthusiastic encouragement from the sidelines 👏.

Defensively, the team were rock solid with a clean sheet on defensive penalty corners, and impressively no penalty corners were awarded to Eastleigh in the second half. Jo was, as always, composed and dependable at the back – and even stepped into goal at one point to make a brilliant save! Sophie, our keeper, also had a great game with confident saves and excellent directional clearances.

Eastleigh battled hard throughout and were unfortunately reduced to 10 players in the final 10 minutes, but the game remained friendly and sporting right to the end. Thankfully, the rain held off, giving us perfect conditions to enjoy the match.

Star Player nominations also went to Emma, Sarah, Coops, Jo, Ruth, and our fabulous Star Support – showing what a real team effort this was 💛.

A brilliant away performance, a clean sheet, great sportsmanship, and plenty of laughs – a perfect Saturday morning for Romsey Ladies 4s! 🏑✨
