Away win | Wet, windy… and worth it!

Romsey travelled (eventually… after everyone got a bit lost 😅) to Swanage this afternoon and came away with a brilliant 3–2 win in tricky wet and windy conditions.

The scoring got underway around 20 minutes into the first half, with Lucy calmly converting a short corner to put Romsey ahead. The pressure kept building and after the break Hannah made it 2 on 40 minutes, before Sarah sealed the deal with a well-taken third on 50 minutes.

A huge shout-out to our debutants — Poppi, Scarlett and Harriet, with Cat bravely stepping up in goal. Harriet and Poppi tore down the wings with some cracking runs, Scarlett got properly stuck in in midfield, and Cat was ice-cool in goal, standing firm against Swanage’s big-hitting number 30 and looking totally undaunted 👏.

There was some really lovely team play throughout, with youngsters confidently passing to the oldies and vice versa — great movement, great communication, and a proper team performance from start to finish.

Special moments off the pitch included the megaphone lady getting told off (👀), and Wisey practising her cheerleading moves on the sidelines — just needs pom-poms next week.

Match tea was a winner too: hot dogs with onions and chips — perfect fuel after battling the elements.
