Weather: Drizzly, cold, and very “dig deep”

This morning was one of those games that wasn’t pretty, wasn’t calm, and certainly wasn’t easy—but it was full of heart, grit, and pure Romsey stubbornness.

Bournemouth came with experience and a physical edge, but Romsey answered with hard work, determination, and absolutely no quit.

The Game: It was scrappy, physical, and occasionally held together only by team patience as some fouls mysteriously vanished into the mist.

But Romsey kept battling.

• Penny’s goal—sweet payback after taking a painful crack to the foot.

• Coops and Emma ran relentlessly, covering half of Hampshire between them.

• Amelia pulled off brilliant, sharp saves—switched on instantly every time she was called upon.

• Hannah, out of position, threw herself into everything, including a dramatic dive at goal.

• Poppy, on her debut, tried multiple positions and showed fantastic attitude.

• Young coach Arla got fully stuck in, adding energy from the sideline.

• Coach Simon was called a knob by an opposition player, which showed he was clearly very invested and doing something right, he rose above it and shrugged it off!

The Fight: Romsey played with passion, hunger, and resilience. It wasn’t silky hockey—but it was united, determined hockey, and that’s what earned the draw.

Support & Atmosphere: A brilliant crowd of cheerleaders—two-legged and four-legged—kept the spirits high.

And the post-match glory?

Pie and chips. Absolute perfection. 🥳
