Once upon a Saturday afternoon, in the seaside kingdom of Poole, a band of gallant stick-wielding heroes from Romsey gathered for their second quest of the season. Their challenge: to face the mighty warriors of Poole 2s. The villagers gathered, the turf glistened under a grey autumn sky, and the whistle blew to begin the tale.
From the very first moment, Romsey’s heroes played with fire in their hearts. The scoreboard would eventually tell the tale of an 8–0 triumph, but in truth, the story was woven with teamwork, courage, and the shining magic of one extraordinary knight: Squid.
The first goals arrived like thunderclaps, struck home by Lex, Squid, and Wilf. Each of them bagged a brace, though whispers in the crowd noted—half in jest, half in wonder—that none quite reached the fabled hat-trick. Yet their efforts were mighty, their shots sharp, and their celebrations joyful. In the centre of the battlefield, Ali orchestrated the game like a sorcerer of passes, conjuring four assists that kept Romsey’s rhythm flowing.
But every tale has a star, and today, that star was Squid. With two goals of his own, he carved his name deep into the annals of Romsey legend. His finishing was fierce, his vision unmatched, and his generosity divine. For it was Squid who assisted Lex’s strike, threading the perfect pass that made the goal inevitable. And it was Squid again who gifted Sanni the chance to score his first of the season—a moment of glory the defender will treasure forever, though all knew the move would not have existed without Squid’s brilliance.
The final act of the story was a true fairy-tale goal: a sweeping team move, passes strung together like golden threads, ending with Sanni’s triumphant finish. Yet even then, all roads led back to Squid, whose earlier spark had ignited the fire.
Not to be forgotten, Freddie showed the heart of a warrior. After bravely taking the ball full on the cheek, he refused to yield, returning to the pitch and even finding the net himself. Such spirit shall not be overlooked in the songs sung of this day.
And so, with eight goals, countless smiles, and the legend of Squid burning brighter than ever, Romsey’s heroes marched off victorious from Poole. Their season’s story continues, with all eyes now eagerly fixed on the next great battle against Trojans 4s.
