GU14s finish the year on a high

The u14 girls played Petersfield on a cold winter morning away at Bedales school. The Girls started briskly and created two early chances which were saved brilliantly by the Petersfield keeper.

They soon broke the deadlock with a wonderful individual goal from Grace following a lovely move down the right started by Elsie.

This gave them confidence and Caitlin started to run he midfield and was reading the play brilliantly ably supported by Phoebe and Bethany. Grace soon got her second goal with a lovely finish into the corner of the goal. Romsey were now on top but Petersfield were quick on the break and the defensive quartet of Anna , Rosie, Elsie and Camilla had to be on top form to keep them at bay.

Grace completed her hatrick just before half time which gave Romsey breathing space as the second half started. Within minutes the ball was flashed across the D and Maggie who had positioned herself brilliantly was able to finish smartly to put Romsey 4-0 up.

This spurred Petersfield on and they threw caution to the wind and despite defensive efforts and some great kicking from Sophie they pulled two goals back but it wasn’t enough and Romsey continued their unbeaten run.

Well done girls great team work!

Well done to Debutante  Bethany who was tireless in midfield.
