The girls had a very strong game against the New Forest U14 girls this was despite no subs.

The girls worked really well as a team – talking to each other and using the whole pitch with some lovely passes across and up the pitch.

The first goal was  scored early in the first quarter by Grace, who was exceptional weaving between players.

There was another early attempt at goal with an excellent save by the NF goalkeeper

In the 2nd quarter, there was a lovely attempt at a goal by Ava with a run up the line and across, followed by a long corner and then a goal by Rylee assisted by Grace.  A great achievement from Rylee who was playing up from the U12’s.

New Forest became stronger towards the end of this quarter and the next with an attempt at goal.

In the 3rd quarter there were frequent shots at goal but they were either close misses or saved by the goalkeeper.  One particular attempt was after great defence by Ané who passed a long ball to Ava who ran it up the side line.  Camilla had another shot before a long corner.  Grace and Rylee continued to attempt crosses into goal with some very close attempts. Finally in the last quarter Ava was successful in 2 goals, the final one after being assisted by Grace.

It was a really good, enjoyable game to watch, with fast play from our Romsey side, and some good team work both in defence, mid field and attack.  Our U14 girls have really progressed this season.  The umpire from the NF team commented on how good the girls were!

Well played everyone
