Romsey’s U12 Boys braved the storms and travelled to Bournemouth on Sunday. The game was tight from the start with action regularly moving from end to end – neither side able to dominate.

Noah Cooper marshalled the Romsey defence well, Ben Whittaker was solid and fed the ball forward. Oscar Wright played his best match in a Romsey shirt at right back and William Gent was a regular attacking threat on the left.

Player of the match was James Fuller, he pressed the opposition hard and won important possession for Romsey. His hard work provided Matt Dyer and Ben Harris with the ball in useful forward positions. Edward Robinson made a number of very quick breaks down the right wing.

Dan Alavi, making his debut appearance in goal, made a number of excellent saves in what proved to be a frantic match.

Despite their hard work Romsey lost out 4-1 to the Dorset side. Romsey’s consolation goal came from a short corner won by some fancy stick work by Morgan Robertson, and a pile driver of a shot from Harry Croft-Baker.
