Ladies 3s (0) vs (0) Basingstoke 5s

Scorers – none

A full-strength Romsey Ladies 3s team bounced back from a tough match away to the league leaders last week. They took a well earnt point, with a 0-0 draw against a Basingstoke 5s team who have lost only once all season.

Basingstoke played well throughout, but Romsey were able to match them in all areas in a very balenced game.

The match was played at a fast pace with both teams creating chances. Emma Roberts made a series important saves in only her second ever game in goal for Romsey, while Ruth Manners as sweeper also stopped several Basingstoke attacks.

Romsey almost opened the scoring at the end of the first half when a cross from Hayley Tucknott found Cat Gladstone in the D, but a last ditch block from a Basingstoke defender prevented the goal.

Youngster, Holly Roberts, ran tirelessly and was at the heart of several promising attacks in the second half, but the Basingstoke defence held firm.

In the end the 0-0 scoreline was a fair reflection of an evenly balanced and very entertaining game.
