A tough match in driving rain produced a 6-1 win for the Romsey girls at home on Sunday. Both teams fought hard in hideous conditions but the hockey was great to watch excellent skills and both teams play produced a game that was closer than the score shows. The finishing from Romsey was most probable the main difference with Alexia Cross getting her first hat trick for the club. Basingstoke broke through the Romsey defence once in the first half but a valiant save by Roma Creedon saved the day, again a lovely team move by the away side produced their only goal in the second half. Romsey had some great individual play from Isobel Brown, Jenny Pimley and Sheila Forbes who also scored. Rebecca Williams and Charlotte Dibden found the back of the net as well as giving 100% throughout the game. Well done Romsey.
