Ladies 3s (5) – (1) Aldershot & Farnham 4s

Scorers: Gladstone 2, Evans, Mews, Wilton

The Ladies 3s were in fine form again this weekend, beating Aldershot 5-1.

The first half was closely-fought, but the return of sweeper Hayley Tucknott to the side ensured the defence were well organised and rebuffed all the opposition attacks. Romsey then grabbed the lead late in the first half when Pam Mews met a cross from the right to score from close range.

In the second half Romsey found their attacking rhythm, with Cat Gladstone scoring from the top of the D following good work down the right wing from joint players of the match, Carrie Martin and Julie Evans.

A few minutes later Evans scored her first goal for the club after her shot was deflected off an Aldershot defender’s foot into the goal. Gladstone then added another to make it 4-0.
Aldershot scored a consolation goal late in the game, but Romsey also weren’t finished yet, with a last-minute short-corner being converted by Megan Wilton after a frantic goalmouth scramble.
