A very much second string team, due to absences at Hampshire JDC training, travelled to Lymington for a friendly vs New Forest and came away with a brilliant 8 – 0 thrashing, with Archie Attwood scoring a brilliant 5 goals.

The team captained by Jamie Sanderson led 2 -0 at half time with goals from Attwood and Sanderson and in reality should have been further ahead due to their superiority.  Several chances were created by Matt Rowland, Rhys Walthen and Robert Williams but went begging. The message at half time was for the team, and particularly the strikers, to take their time and be more clinical and certainly that is what happened in the second half.

Attwood caused problems with his pace and power of shooting and scored 4 more to make his personal total 5, and Edward Robinson got the other.

The excellent performances of a number (if not all ) of the players  has put pressure on places for the upcoming league matches and this bodes well for the season ahead
