Romsey U16 Girls started their first home match of the season in style, they took the lead after 10 minutes with a great strike by Jade Phillips from a penalty corner.

Romsey dominated possession and went into half time 2-0 up with a well taken goal by Georgia Appleby.

The second half continued in the same vein with Romsey keeping Southampton’s defence under pressure, superb passing soon saw Romsey score a 3rd goal through Georgia Appleby.

Romsey continued to work hard with Gabriella Hebert, Emily Morgan, Gigi Hebert and Emily Pitt-Pitts defending solidly each time Southampton made a break.

Constant attacks up the wings from Emma Perriam, Rosie Middleton, Katrina Penn Newman and Tilda Bryant continuously pushed Romsey into the attacking D creating opportunities for Emily Williams to strike the ball into the top right hand corner which was well saved by the Southampton goal keeper.

A final penalty corner was awarded just before the final whistle giving Romsey yet another goal opportunity. Jade Phillips sent a great strike to Georgia Appleby who was quick on the post to knock the ball past the keeper and into the corner of the goal to score a well deserved hat trick.

Player of the match went to Emily Morgan for superb work in defence and midfield, It was an all round good team performance.
