The U14 boys fine, unbeaten run in the season continued with a great display of all round hockey by beating Bournemouth 7-2 to go top of the league.

Goals in the first half from central strikers Archie Attwood and Jake Rowland, both created by flowing moves down the right hand side involving Robert Williams, Ben Davidson and Art Barcia, gave a comfortable 2 -0 lead.

Further goals, early in the second half, from captain Tom Croft Baker and Matt Rowland seemed to indicate a run away victory but a mix of sloppy defending, and Bournemouth pressing led to a number of penalty corners of which Bournemouth converted two which changed the complexity of the game.

As Bournemouth pressed forward, Romsey were able to catch them on the break and the opposition’s resolve was finally broken when goals from Barcia and Rowland put Romsey 6 -2 up.  There was time for one more from Croft Baker before the final whistle to make a comfortable 7-2 victory.
