Romsey U14B travelled to Fareham hoping to continue their winning ways. With Gigi Herbert marshalling the defence Romsey began to build pressure on Fareham and Romsey took the lead when a cross from Sheila Forbes was deftly deflected into the goal by Abbie James using her reverse stick.

Fareham’s attacks were stifled by the tireless work of Rebecca Collier, Clemmie Gent and Polly Sandison, and Romsey continued to build momentum with a series of attacks on the Fareham goal. Sophie Lawson was soon rewarded with the first of her two goals following excellent build up play through the midfield.

Fareham continued to try to get back into the game and a momentary lapse in marking enabled them to score on the counter, despite the best efforts of player of the match Nyah Sherwin in goal. Romsey soon established their 2 goal lead with Sophie Lawson scoring her second.

Iona Howells worked hard up front hassling the Fareham defence and finished well firing the ball into the bottom left corner of the Fareham goal to make it 4-1. Fareham won a couple of short corners but these were cleared by Ellen Saunders and further Fareham attacks were broken down by the Romsey defence including some brilliant tackles by Emily Procter.

Romsey cemented their victory with a final goal scored by Iona Howells after Zayne Salib recovered the ball in the midfield.

Final score 5-2 Romsey, another super performance by the team.
