The U12 boys hosted Trojans at HCS, looking for a win to regain 2nd place in the league, and hoping to finish before the forecasted rain arrived.

Forwards: Ben Harris, Bailey Benham, Bryn Wathen

Midfield: Olly Westmacott, Christopher Blake, Noah Cooper, Morgan Robertson, Ben Sluman

Defence: Toby Hamblin, Jamie Reid, Will Richards, Archie Webster, Rob Budden (GK)

The first period saw both teams battling for possession in the midfield.  The first opportunity fell to Trojans, with Romsey keeper Rob making an important stop.  Romsey took the lead following a short corner, with Ben Harris pouncing on the ball to score from close range in the subsequent scramble.  1-0 Romsey.

The second period saw the arrival of the wind and rain.  Trojans scored from a short corner to take it to 1-1.  Romsey fought back, with some nice passing in the final third leading to Noah Cooper shooting from the edge of the D, and Morgan Roberston adding the final touch for a well worked goal.  2-1 Romsey.

The final period saw Romsey playing into the rain and wind (and most of the parents shivering).  Trojans began to play with more width, pinning Romsey back in their own half.  The resulting pressure in Romsey’s D led to Trojan’s winning a series of short corners.  Romsey defended each with determination, but were finally undone, with Trojans levelling the score at 2-2.  Romsey kept their heads up and tried to hit Trojans on the break for a winner, coming close but not close enough to take the win.  The 2-2 draw was a fair result, with the boys and parents beating a hasty retreat from the weather – hence the lack of photo!
