The following Guidelines are for club officials who have been given access to the website.

Captains and managers must use the calendar and keep it up to-date. They can ask a member of their team to help with their team page. Adding photographs and information (links to league tables etc.) They can tweet the match score and scorers. The only restriction is they must be over 18

Coaches will need to capture the relevant information for their pages. Including all aspects of Child safety.

Commitee’s will need to capture the relevant information for their pages. Names and address are not to be stored on the site even on the restricted pages. Censored meeting minutes can be.

Strict rules for Juniors: It is a public site so anyone in the world can see the content including the calendar. Child safe is paramount.

  1. Personal information should not be included on the site or in the calendar that could put under 18s at risk.
  2. Only emails addresses belonging to adults are to be put into calendar entries.
  3. Names of children not to be attach to photo photographs.
  4. No links to facebook (an over 13s tool) or similar social networking sites.
  5. No contact lists with names address to be stored on the site, even behind the restricted pages.
  6. Limited number of contact phone numbers to be provided on the site.
  7. The use of official email address for club officials.
  8. Under 18s will not be given access to the restricted areas of the site.

Any concerns with regard to child safety should immediately be taken to the clubs child safety office.

Posts to the site for example news items and match reports represent the club and hockey. They should not cause offense to anyone including club members, parents, opposition clubs, umpires and officials. Those with editor rights are entrusted with clubs reputation.

Think, and read this, before you post

All emails from club officials to the club membership should not include any information, attachments, dates, venues, news but only links to the appropriate news item, on the Website or Blog.

Data Protection: the culb rules complies fully with its obligations under the Data Protection Act 1998 and other relevant legislation pertaining to the safe handling, use, storage, retention and disposal of Disclosure information and has a written policy on these matters, which is available to those who wish to see it on request. There is not a need for the club to register.
